Can Sugar Glider Eat Frozen Fruit? Empty Can Sugar Glider Eat Frozen Fruit?

While you can certainly give your glider a variety of frozen fruits, you need to be careful not to overdo it. Many of these fruits are packed with too much sugar for a healthy diet and can cause metabolic bone disease if they’re not properly balanced with calcium and phosphorus.

Some common fruits and vegetables that are safe for your glider include sweet potatoes, kale, collard greens, romaine lettuce, cucumber (without the skin on), corn, peas, lima beans, broccoli, cauliflower and jicama. Be sure to offer a wide variety of vegetables and fruits, as different varieties contain different nutrients.

Vegetables are a crucial part of the sugar glider’s diet, but they should be given sparingly and in small amounts. If you’re feeding your glider fresh veggies, be sure to rinse them well and remove any excess seeds before serving them.

Protein is also an important component of a sugar glider’s diet. A minimum of 25% of their daily diet should be a source of protein.

In addition to a high-quality protein diet, gliders need plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to maintain optimal health. Choose fruits and vegetables that are organic to reduce your glider’s exposure to pesticides.

Most keepers recommend offering a mixture of fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, but you can also mix up your own recipes. This is a great way to keep your gliders on a healthy diet while still giving them the options they love. Try making small batches with a variety of fruits and vegetables and adding them to a basic staple, such as HPW original.
