Can Sugar Glider Eat Dog Food? Empty Can Sugar Glider Eat Dog Food?

Sugar gliders are not like dogs, they have a very different diet that consists of natural foods from the wild. Unlike dogs, they cannot digest the proteins and nutrients found in most pet store dog foods.

Yes, sugar gliders can eat dry dog and cat kibble in small amounts as long as they are a high quality brand that has been specifically formulated for sugar gliders. However, this is not recommended as a permanent diet for your sugar glider as it will not contain all the nutrients that your glider needs to thrive in the long term.

They also love live insects (especially meal worms) but they need to be given in moderation as they are too fattening for your sugar glider to eat all day. Nuts, which are another favorite of sugar gliders, are okay to eat on occasion as well.

Can Sugar Glider Eat Bananas?
Bananas can be a very healthy treat for your sugar glider as long as you don't feed them too many of them. You can also give them some apple slices and watermelon - they need to be cut up small enough that the seeds don't end up in their food.

Can Sugar Glider Eat Blueberries?
Yes, adult and baby sugar gliders can eat blueberries in limited amounts. Keep in mind that they should not be fed more than a quarter of a cup of fruit per day.
